The “new kid in town’, the 384 room Le Méridien Chiang Mai is in the heart of the Chiang Mai central business district with easy access to the Night Bazaar.

I have not had a chance to stay at this property, but I have visited the lobby, and it is very nice. If you like being in the center of the action in Chiang Mai, this a top hotel in the best location.

In a nutshell, we really like this property and plan to meet with the Le Méridien Chiang Mai management team soon for a tour!

After a “not so good ” experience trying to to get the tailors of Fashion King in Chiang Mai to reproduce a simply shirt pattern, I found S. K. Boutique, 89/2 Changkland Road, Shop A109 in the Kalare Shopping Center (Kalare Night Bazaar).  The owner, Raj, was confident his tailor could create a shirt from a pattern and save me 100 Baht.   Now creating my custom shirt cost 400 instead of 500 Baht, a savings nearly 20%.

The first shirt by S. K. was perfect so I decided to make another one.  The second one was good as well, so I decided to make a third one.   The quality, fit, and workmanship was much better at S. K. Boutique than Fashion King.  So far, I can recommend Raj and S. K. Boutique for taking selected exotic Northern Thai cotton fabrics and creating custom shirts.

Earlier we posted Lamphun Botanical Garden and Terracotta Arts and provided an early peek into this very large project, expected to be completed in 5 years. Here is an old topographic map from the Thai Royal Survey Department of the general area in Lamphun for Suan Mai Thai (Lamphun Botanical Gardens and Terracotta Arts).
